Chimney Fan Installation
Some fireplaces lose the draft lottery: a short flue the architecture can't extend, a tight modern house that starves the fire of makeup air, a downdraft-prone site. When passive fixes run out, a flue-top fan ends the argument — mechanically.
Draft on demand
A chimney fan mounts at the flue exit and pulls exhaust up at the flip of a switch — no more pressure negotiations with your roofline. Variable speed lets you run high for lighting (the smoky minutes) and low for cruising. For short flues, basement fireplaces, and tight ductless-range homes, it’s frequently the only fix that fully works.
Installed for Texas service
We mount the fan with serviceable access, run the wiring to a wall control properly (licensed electrical handoff where code requires), and verify the draft numbers before and after. Quality units carry multi-year warranties and decades of service life — this is buy-once equipment.
The Chimney Visit
- Draft measurement and root-cause confirmation first

Common Questions
Isn't a fan overkill? Maybe a taller cap would do?
Sometimes it would — that’s why we measure first. If a draft-inducing cap or chase extension solves it for less, that’s the quote you get. The fan is for when physics needs help, not a default upsell.
What happens during a power cut?
The fireplace reverts to its natural draft — same as before the fan. With wood fires we recommend letting the fire die down in an outage if your natural draft was the original problem.
