Chimney Animal Removal
Scratching above the fireplace at 2 AM means somebody moved in. Raccoons and chimney swifts treat an uncapped Texas flue like a hollow tree — and while they’re in there, they block your airflow, push combustion gases back into the house, and pile up nesting material that burns.
Humane out, permanently out
We remove the animal safely and without harming it — including waiting out chimney swifts, which are federally protected while nesting. Then we close the door behind them: a screened cap or animal guard fitted to your flue. An animal that can’t get back in finds shelter elsewhere; one that can will return every season.
The cleanup matters as much as the catch
Droppings, nesting debris, and (sometimes) remains carry odor and histoplasmosis risk, and they choke your draft. After removal we clean and sanitize the flue, then verify it drafts properly before you light the next fire.

Common Questions
There are baby animals up there — what now?
We work around the wildlife calendar: with raccoon kits we use eviction techniques that let the mother relocate them; with nesting swifts, federal law requires waiting until they fledge — then we cap the same week.
Will the smell go away on its own?
No — organic debris in a warm flue gets worse, especially in humid weather. The sanitizing step exists precisely because removal alone doesn’t fix the smell.
