Fireplace Glass Doors
Glass doors are the upgrade that pays three ways: they stop your conditioned air from pouring up the flue all year, they put a barrier between toddlers/pets and the fire, and they make the whole fireplace wall look finished.
Measured like cabinetry, rated like a furnace part
Doors are fitted to your firebox’s exact opening — masonry fireplaces take custom frames anchored into the brick; prefab units take model-listed doors only (an unlisted door on a prefab traps heat the unit wasn’t designed for). Glass matters too: tempered for screens-open burning, ceramic where doors-closed operation is intended.
The air-loss math nobody runs
An open damper is a 64-square-inch hole in your envelope; even closed, old dampers leak. Gasketed glass doors cut that loss to nearly nothing in the 11 months you’re not burning — in a DFW summer, that’s a real number on the electric bill. Finish options (matte black through brushed brass) make it the rare efficiency upgrade that photographs well.

Common Questions
Can I burn with the doors closed?
Only with ceramic glass rated for it — standard tempered doors must be open while burning (screens closed). We’ll spec what your use pattern needs and label it clearly.
Will doors fit my arched opening?
Yes — custom frames handle arches and odd masonry. The template visit takes twenty minutes and the fit comes back exact.
